House Fire - Fatal Death in Old Lycoming Township

On friday September 4, 2009 at 5:26am Station’s 14 with engine 14-1 were dispatched to a working structure fire located at 1640 Fox Hollow Rd, Old Lycoming Twp. The first call from the homeowner reported a living room fire reported out.  Within 2 minutes the homeowner called back and reported the living room was on fire again.  The incident was re-dispatched as a working box alarm.  While units were in route County Control advised that there was and entrapment on the second floor.

Old Lycoming Twp Police and Deputy Chief Hope were first to arrive on Scene.  Side “A” was engulfed in flames upon arrival.  Engine 14-1 crew, was the first apparatus on the scene.  A hose line was stretched for an rescue and offensive attack.  Unfortunately  the female victim was found deceased by crews in the second floor bathroom. Other unit arrived on scene, and the fire was under control at 0633 hrs.  Station 14 was assisted at the scene by Stations 1,2,8,9,18 & 20. Also assisting in the investigation  was Old Lycoming Twp Police, PA State Fire Marshal, Lycoming County Coroner’s office.  The fire has been ruled accidental.
