What will happen Next?
After receiving your application a person in charge of new membership will contact you shortly.
1. You will be notified to appear for an interview with the membership committee. (Requirements for the type of membership that you applied for will be review with you).
2. After approval of from the committee your application will be presented to the company membership at the regular monthly meeting. This will be considered the 1st reading. You will be notified and must attend this meeting.
3. Then your application will lay for 30days, while a State Police Background Check is done.
4. After the background check you will be notified. If approved your application will be read at the next regular scheduled monthly meeting. Then voted on for acceptance on a 1yr probationary period. This will be considered the 2nd reading. Attendance is Required.

Q: When are the regular membership monthly meetings held?
A: They are scheduled on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the social hall.
Q: I'm still in high school. Can I become a firefighter?
A: If you are between the ages of 14-18. You are eligible to become a junior member. |
Q: I want to help out but don't want to fight fires, is there anything I can do?
A: Becoming an Auxiliary Member, you'll be able to help out the fire station with fundraiser and other events, without fight the fires.

Q: What type of training has to be done, to become a firefighter?
A: You only need to take 6 classes to become a probationary firefighter, Listed below in the qualification for probationary firefighter.
Qualification for Probationary Firefighter
- Station 14 Orientation, IST, Haz Mat R & I, NIMS 700, First Aid, CPR
All probationary firefighters have one (1) year to be enrolled in/or completed Essentials of Firefighting, Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, and Bloodborne Pathogens. All interior firefighters after two (2) years must move on to L-1 Firefighter training and complete within five (5) years
Qualifications for Level I Firefighter
- Essentials of Firefighting or equivalent,
Firefighter I Professional Certification,
Engine Company Operations,
Truck Company Operations,
Pa D.O.H. Vehicle Technician,
Firefighter Survival,
Ventilation Practices,
NIMS 700,
Forcible Entry,
Basic Rigging,
Water Rescue I
Junior Membership
Participation Members ages 14 - 17.
Training (must be supervised by an adult member, any hazardous atmosphere is excluded from the permitted activities.)
- May participate in all aspects of fire suppression training except interior live fire extinguishments.
- May participate in all rescue training except the use of hydraulic and power equipment unless directly supervised by a fire instructor or an experienced officer (over 21 yrs. of age).
- May participate in water supply training.
- May participate in hazmat training except entry using level A & B personal protective equipment.
- May participate in all safety training.
- May participate in wild land firefighting and wilderness search and rescue training.
- May participate in all emergency medical training.
Ages 14-15 Emergency incident scene (should be supervised by an adult member and only after the incident is determined to be under control by the officer in charge.)
Ages 16-17 Emergency incident scene (should be directly supervised by a Chief or a trained experienced fire officer over 21 years of age. Direct supervision means the supervising person must be within speaking and touching distance of the Junior Member.)
Duty Hours: Ages 14 & 15
- During School Term: No activity while school is in session, No activity between 7PM and 7AM*
Are permitted to attend training, fund raising & meetings only, after 7PM
- During Summer Vacation: Can be active from 7AM-10PM, No activity from 10PM-7AM
*Exception: with a signed written parental consent, employment is permitted until 10PM, during the school term.
Duty Hours – Ages 16 & 17
- During School Term: No calls while school is in session, No calls between 12 midnight & 6AM, No calls between 1AM & 6AM on weekends and holidays
- During Summer Vacation: No restrictions during summer vacation
Sixteen and seventeen year olds who answer calls before the midnight or 1AM deadline may continue to serve that call past the deadline, but they may not answer any new calls that come in after midnight or 1AM.
Duty Hours – Age 18 Active Firefighters Enrolled in High School
- During School Term: No calls while school is in session,
No calls after 0100 hours (1 AM) on nights, preceding a school day,
No Restrictions on school vacations, holidays, in-service days, or weekends
Active Firefighters still in High School are restricted to ensure they are able to adequately attend and graduate high school. Personnel in this category are allowed to remain working at an incident that runs past 1 AM, but must remove themselves from the apparatus upon returning to Station 14 and answer no new calls.
